silver's garden of dreams...

in all storylines outside of very modern real-world settings, silver's understanding of their gender generally boils down to them feeling being referred to as either a man / male or a woman / female feels "weird" in a way they dislike, but struggle to articulate; when pressed about these feelings by someone they trust enough to be honest with they simply shrug and reply i don't feel like a man or a woman; i'm just a person.

attraction is also simply a topic that doesn't get discussed very much or deeply since silver is usually dealing with much more urgent things, and in most cases the people they trust enough to talk to about such things are also bisexual or pansexual so they simply reinforce silver's assumptions and mindset that, you know, obviously everyone just feels kind of attracted to other people regardless of gender, right? that's completely normal. everyone feels that way.
in the few cases where they have friends who are gay or straight and also the downtime to have discussions about things that aren't life or death, silver does react with genuine shock when they eventually learn that not everyone is attracted to everyone else and some people really do only have any kind of attraction for one specific gender. in true silver fashion they then spend some time after this struggling with an internal moral crisis of worrying in a state of panic if whatever makes gender not factor into their attraction is something that's bad, and means there's something wrong with them. (they figure it out eventually, don't worry.)

and thus, the words and detailed queer identities on this page are things i as silver's creator have decided apply to them, and are not really words or descriptors that would even exist in all non-modern non-real world storylines they're a part of, so they wouldn't really know or use any of these themself. these are also descriptive and not prescriptive, meaning i'm using these words here as shorthand to tell you some general things about silver, not that these are narrow and rigid boxes they should be expected to strictly conform to.

(silver's assigned gender does not factor into anything on this page; please do not ask me about their assigned gender. it's not relevant information to them as a character, or in general. get used to not knowing or caring about what kind of junk someone has.)

as with my RP preferences, i do allow for peoples' characters to refer to Silver in ways they dislike and treat them poorly. this is mostly just as a reference for IC interactions if it interests anyone, but is a firm set of boundaries OOC; other people not respecting this page OOC is not an excuse for anyone else to do the same. there is exactly one person who is allowed to completely disregard this entire page, and he already knows he's allowed that.
